“I lived my life until 2 years ago not knowing who I was or what my purpose was. I thought that I would find it in drugs and alcohol, but it took me a long time to realise that I wouldn’t. So after 6 years of sobriety, I decided to take things further. One of the most powerful things that I experienced, which I did again at a later date was partake in plant medicine ceremonies at Deep Spirit. I was a little apprehensive as I didn’t know anyone there, but as soon as I got there, I somehow felt that I was in a safe environment. The first ceremony was quite intense and I was sick a few times, but all the time there were people watching over me with love, making sure that I had everything I needed. The songs that were sung during the ceremony were really strange, beautiful, powerful. I felt like I was on some kind of an Amazon alien spaceship. The words were totally unfamiliar but still beautiful. I was told that I was singing along, although I didn’t know the words. The next day we all, one by one, shared our experiences. I found this to be particularly cathartic as I had struggled the night before. I felt that I could really show myself and not be judged for it. Everyone that shared, shared from the heart. This made me love this place even more. I decided at that point that I would come back again and again as a helper. The whole process is set up very professionally and they know what they are doing. The helpers and facilitators have all been through the process and know what it’s like. I liked every single one of them. Such beautiful people. If you want to get closer to yourself then the plant medicine is the way to go.” – Patrick

“I’ve had the pleasure to visit Femø in several occasions. I found the place by chance and immediately felt the call to visit knowing there was something there for me. It was my first time doing plant medicine and I was definitely a little bit nervous about the whole experience. However, after 20 minutes on the island I felt at home, surrounded by such a caring and lovely crew that felt just right from the first moment. The whole weekend was probably the most transformative thing I have ever done in my life. It was challenging and confronted me with really deep things I was not even aware was there. I was really happy to be with people who were fully there for me and helped me during and after to integrate the experience. Since then I have been back 3 times – once to work with the medicine and 2 times to visit the people that are now my friends and that are working so hard to build up this amazing community that I feel is my little house in Denmark.
