Plant Retreats

At Deep Spirit we facilitate Shipibo inspired plant healing retreats, where we dive into some of the sacred traditions and teachings of the Shipibo tribe of the Amazon. We do our best to honour these sacred traditions while merging them with Western therapeutic practices as well as teachings from Asia. This could be modalities such as sound therapy, yoga, body work and therapeutic talks. We are very grateful to be in a place, where we are able to combine and bring wisdom teachings together from our teachers all around the world.

It is our experience that being at Issemosegaard is medicine in itself and for us it is not all about ceremonies or a packed retreat programme. On the contrary, we believe that much of the healing takes place in the time between – it’s in the sharing circles, in deep conversations and in time spend in your own space.

Plant Healing Retreats

Throughout the years we have experimented with many variations of these retreats, such as length and content, and today we have landed in a form that we think works well. Our Plant Healing Retreats take place over a weekend with either 2 or 3 nights and include 2 Shipibo inspired ceremonies. On the 3-night retreats we also offer breathwork, yoga and there is the possibility of booking a massage or a Kambo session.

Plant Immersion Retreats

As our own path of studying plants progress, we also find an interest from many of our participants to move a bit further into the teachings of the plants. On Plant Immersion Retreats participants will get a small glimpse of what a Master Plant Dieta is, as we on these retreats devote our focus to a chosen plant with the purpose of conneting to an learning from this plant using tinctures.

The food will be similar to that of a Master Plant Dieta and there will be time spend in silence and fasting. We will have workshops and dive into other Shipibo practices that are not a part of our normal Plant Healing Retreats. The retreats will include 1 Shipibo inspired ceremony and the rest of the programme will vary depending on the plant in focus.

These retreats are recommended for people that already have experience with the Shipibo traditions and wish to take a step further onto becoming a student of the plants. It is a great stepping stone for everyone who considers doing a Master Plant Dieta at some point.

Accommodation and Meals

We have room for a maximum of 12 participants during a retreat. Sleeping takes place in shared rooms inside the house – usually divided into male/female rooms. Bedlinen and covers are provided so all you have to bring is your private items, toiletries and a towel. You are welcome to bring a tent if you prefer to set up your own space outside. The house includes 3 toilets and 1 shower and we have 2 outdoor toilets available as well.

The food we prepare during our retreats are vegan and/or vegetarian and are made to support you on your healing journey. Should you have any special dietary requirements or allergies we do our best to cater to it.

Application and Signing Up

When you sign up for one of our retreats you automatically become a member of our association, which is the umbrella for our place and everything we do here.

To apply we ask you to fill in an application form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We will then arrange time for a phone call where we can get introduced to each other, talk more in depth about the retreat and you can ask all questions you may have. Please note that not everyone will be accepted and we take the application process very seriously.
